Till few days back, if you would have asked me about “Harshad Mehta”, I would have told you that he was a baddie. I would have told that he was involved in crores of scam related to stock market and shares. He amassed huge wealth at the cost of national interest etc.
Because this is what being shown by media at the time when harshad mehta was arrested.
Now if you also think on the similar lines, this movie will be an eye opener for you. It will show you a different perspective of what media showed it to us.
In Gafla, debutant director sameer hanchante tried to provide a different perspective of the harshad mehta scam. Though, the film claims that it is purely fictional, but once you start watching it, you can easily correlate it with what happened some 16 years back.
The movie tells the story of a middle class man who wants to step out of the box and make it big. He does achieve success at first but then becomes a victim of the scam only to return as the daredevil and stake everything in it all over again.
The movie is worth watching.

I have seen this movie and was quite impressed with the direction of debutant director.
The movie is a masterpiece.
After watching this movie I searched “harshad mehta” on wikipedia and found to my surprise that most of the things which movie showed had distinct similarity with his life.
Harshad mehta became subodh mehta in the movie
His company GrowMore became Grow further
Ketan Parikh became Aakash parikh etc

Harshad Mehta, though a cheater, was infact a role model for middle class families. He was one of the first guy who showed that with determination even a middle class family can become rich.

harshad mehta scam was surely an eye opener in many ways.
no scam can be successful unless there are big people involved like politicians, ceos of blue chips, banks etc.
harshad mehta payed the price all alone, undoubtedly he was in lot of pressure. people with power are playing the game of survival of the fittest so well…without realising that they themselves are not fit to be in such a place.
true justice would have been in that case where all the people involved in the scandal would have sent to jail…
undoubtely he proved himself…

Harshad Mehata had brought a innovation in market which made him victim of scam. but he was true it is the regulation brought afterwards and made him guilty.
Harshad Mehata is my rolemodel after Dhirubhai.
